Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral?
No, a referral is not required to make an appointment. However, if you plan to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what brought you here, and explore how we might work together. There is no pressure to commit to ongoing therapy after the first session.
Can I use Medicare?
Yes. If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
Do you see children and teenagers?
Yes. I work with children, adolescents and adults. Sessions are tailored to the developmental stage and needs of the young person, and parent involvement is discussed collaboratively.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth sessions are available for clients who are unable to attend in person, subject to clinical appropriateness and Medicare eligibility.
How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions may be available by arrangement for specific clinical needs.
What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
That is completely normal. You are welcome to book an initial session with no obligation to continue. We can talk through what therapy would involve and whether it feels right for you.
