The approach

A warm and collaborative approach to therapy.

Therapy with Rowena is designed to feel supportive, thoughtful and practical. She works collaboratively with clients to understand what is happening, identify meaningful goals and build the skills and insights needed for change.

01

Warm and collaborative

Therapy designed to feel supportive, thoughtful and practical. We work together to understand what's happening, identify meaningful goals and build the skills and insights needed for change.

02

Evidence-based

Drawing on a range of proven therapies — CBT, ACT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, DBT and EFT — integrated around your needs, not a fixed programme applied to every person.

03

Tailored to you

No two people are the same. Your therapy is adapted to your circumstances, your goals, your way of relating — and reviewed together as we go.

Areas of support

A wide range of concerns, met without judgement.

Rowena has experience supporting clients across a broad range of concerns. Whether something is well-defined or harder to put into words, you are welcome here.

01

Anxiety, panic & phobias

Persistent worry, panic attacks and specific fears that limit daily life.

02

Depression & low mood

Low motivation, hopelessness, and a sense that colour has drained from daily life.

03

Trauma & grief

Processing painful past experiences or loss that continues to shape the present.

04

Stress, burnout & adjustment

Overwhelm from pressure, life transitions, or carrying too much for too long.

05

ADHD & autism

Support with attention, sensory processing, emotional regulation and self-understanding.

06

Children, teens & family

School refusal, behavioural challenges, parenting support and attachment concerns.

07

Relationship challenges

Difficulties in romantic, family, friendship or professional relationships.

08

Low self-esteem

Harsh self-criticism, people-pleasing, and difficulty trusting yourself.

09

Sport & performance

Building mental focus, managing pressure and performing with confidence.

…and much else besides. If something is weighing on you, you’re welcome to reach out.

How it begins

Starting therapy, made simple.

Reaching out can feel like the hardest step. Here's exactly what to expect, so there's as little uncertainty as possible.

1

Reach out

Send a brief message or call. I'll respond within two business days — no pressure, and no commitment.

2

Book a session

A first appointment to hear what's bringing you here, begin understanding your story, and explore how we might work together.

3

First session

We meet in person or online, begin to understand your story, and shape a plan that fits you.

4

Ongoing work

Regular sessions, reviewed together as we go — always at a pace that respects you.

Questions, answered

Anything you might be wondering.

If something isn't covered here, you're always welcome to ask directly.

What happens in the first session?
Our first meeting is a conversation. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, some of your history, and what you're hoping for. If anything is required from you prior to the session we will inform you in advance.
Do I need a referral?
No — you're welcome to get in touch directly. If you'd like, a GP referral or mental health care plan may help with costs; I'm happy to advise on this.
How long does therapy usually last?
It varies. Some people come for a few focused sessions; others stay longer for deeper work. We'll review progress together and move at your pace.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Yes. Everything we discuss is held in confidence, with a few clearly defined legal exceptions that I'll explain at our first meeting.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both. Sessions are available in person and by secure video — whichever suits you best.
What are your fees?
Current fees and Medicare rebate information are available on the Fees & Medicare page.
